The issue you describe would occur only if the slave piston reached the bottom of its cylinder bore, couldn't move further, and said pin was forcing pressure on the TOB fork. Before I started this project, I was surprised to find that even with the longer of the two Nissan pins installed, the slave piston was resting nearly half way up the cylinder bore. Half the available travel was already used before any clutch pedal pressure was applied! That observation gave me the idea to use a longer pin that would push the piston further back into its cylinder bore. In doing that, I found at least another half inch of travel at the fork end.
